Provides excellent support, are light and comfortable to wear, and are readily accepted by dogs.

Tarsal Orthotic Supports (hind limb) - Grade 1 / Left / Extra Small is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.

Description

Use of these supports for an injury will help speed up the rate of recovery and get your dog back to full fitness faster. For dogs with early stage or moderate levels of arthritis, they can make the difference between comfort and discomfort, and help keep you dog (or cat) active longer. The compensatory injuries that so often develop due to arthritis can be avoided when the arthritic joint is correctly supported with one of these orthoses. Likewise if there is a strain injury.

They provide excellent support, are light and comfortable to wear, and are readily accepted by dogs.

Tarsal supports are available for temporary support of mild strains, to provide long term support of chronic conditions, or to provide support post-surgery to improve outcomes and avoid re-injury.

These supports can be worn 24/7, but we recommend taking them off regularly to inspect underneath and to leave off your dog when they are inactive for extended periods.

Hand wash using mild detergent, maximum 30°C.

  • Medium level of arthritis
  • Post-operative

Measurement for correct size

Available for left and right tarsal. Take measurements in centimetres with the animal standing. Please refer to the diagram to the above.

We suggest writing down the measurements then refer to the table to identify the correct size. Do not forget to reduce measurement 2 by 30% to get the correct size.

If you do not have a flexible (fabric) tape measure we suggest you use a piece of string and set the string against a ruler or metal measuring tape. Each measurement should fall within the range indicated. The support is highly customisable hence the size can be fine tuned to achieve a good fit.

  1. Measure the circumference of the tarsal
  2. Measure the length from stifle to tarsal, then reduce by 30%.
  3. Measure the length from tarsal to metatarsal joint.

Dispatch of beds

All our beds are made to order. This is how we are able to offer such a large number of sizes and colours.

We aim to dispatch your bed within 14 days of order, and usually manage to do it sooner. If the colour of fabric is not available in that timeframe, we will alert you to the delay and you can opt to change the colour you have selected.

Bespoke beds will generally take four to six weeks. This is because we have to order the bespoke size of foam which can take some time to arrive.

Shipping

We charge for shipping. There is no such thing as free shipping - it is either declared openly as we do, or its cost is hidden in the price you are paying for the item you are buying. The price of shipping depends on the size of the item ordered. Typically a bed shipped within mainland UK will cost £15-18. We use FedEx as they are reliable and are willing to handle our bulky products.

For small items under 2kgs we use Royal Mail next day tracked service. Unfortunately, this is not guaranteed to be a next day delivery. Orders placed before 12 noon will go out the same day.
