Description

These Medical Protection Covers eliminate the need for an Elizabethan collar to protect an injury or surgery wound from licking or scratching. They enable the dog to move freely and naturally while at the same time protecting an wound or area of irritation, making for happier pets and improving their rate of recovery from injury or surgery. If the dog needs crate rest, the cover is much more comfortable than the traditional cone and inflatable collars.

Made using the ScandiTex textile developed by Scandi Orthopedic specifically for this purpose they are waterproof and breathable with excellent stretch to allow freedom of movement, while also being durable. No moisture will get through to the wound or bandage, yet humidity is able to escape through the cover.

Medical Protection Covers (MCP) are made for comfort with the seams on the outside to avoid any risk of abrasion. They can safely be left in place for 24 hours a day. Hand wash with mild detergent at a maximum of 40^oC.

MCPs are available for fore and hind legs and also as a full body cover.

Measurement for correct size - hind leg

To order the correct size, you will need to measure the dog as shown in the diagrams and relate this to the figures in the table below. It is easier to measure your dog first, write down the measurements, then check what you have written against the table.

Perform the measurement with the dog standing. Refer to the diagrams.

1. Measure the circumference of the waist just in front of the hind legs.
2. Measure the distance between the hip-joint globe and the top side of the paw.

Dispatch of beds

All our beds are made to order. This is how we are able to offer such a large number of sizes and colours.

We aim to dispatch your bed within 14 days of order, and usually manage to do it sooner. If the colour of fabric is not available in that timeframe, we will alert you to the delay and you can opt to change the colour you have selected.

Bespoke beds will generally take four to six weeks. This is because we have to order the bespoke size of foam which can take some time to arrive.

Shipping

We charge for shipping. There is no such thing as free shipping - it is either declared openly as we do, or its cost is hidden in the price you are paying for the item you are buying. The price of shipping depends on the size of the item ordered. Typically a bed shipped within mainland UK will cost £15-18. We use FedEx as they are reliable and are willing to handle our bulky products.

For small items under 2kgs we use Royal Mail next day tracked service. Unfortunately, this is not guaranteed to be a next day delivery. Orders placed before 12 noon will go out the same day.
