Description

Helping Hand Harnesses  Pet Lift Slings

These slings are designed to reduce the weight on the spine and back legs.  A pet sling is an ergonomic way for pet owners or clinic team members to help move an animal that needs temporary assistance.

• Provides effective post-operative support
• Facilitates gentle exercise during recovery
• Useful support to dogs with arthritis at home and out and about

There are three styles to choose from, depending on where and how the sling is to be used and the condition for which they are to be used.

The Standard and Comfort versions are meant for relatively short term, or occasional use. They are ideal for supporting unsteady dogs immediately after surgery while still on veterinary premises. They are also a low cost option to send home with the patient to assist with movement at home in the short to medium term so they can be helped up stairs and over uneven surfaces. For dogs with arthritis, they can be suitable for long term home use where a limited amount of ongoing assistance is required.

The Offloading Helping Hand Harness is appropriate for long term use in the home or where rehabilitation after surgery or injury will be prolonged. They are fitted round the hips and legs and are highly adjustable.

Standard and Comfort Helping Hand Sling

The Standard is a fixed length  and is easy to use for short periods, while the Comfort version comes with additional padding for longer periods of use and can be adjusted for height of person using it. This is ideal in the home and to help with rehabilitation. For dogs with arthritis that have difficulty with stairs and thresholds, the Helping Hand Sling takes the strain for both dog and dog owner. Where a dog continuously needs needs hind leg or spinal support you should consider the Offloading Helping Hand Harness.

Available in two sizes Medium (86 cm long) and Large (116 cm long)

Materials are a combination of polymide, cotton twill and polyester and may be machine washed at 60°C

Scandi Orthopedic equipment stocked in the UK is dispatched within 24 hours for next day delivery.

Offloading Harness

The Offloading Helping Hand Harness is the 'rolls royce' of hip and spine support tools. It is designed for dogs post surgery, for use during prolonged rehabilitation and for dogs  with chronic conditions that require rear limb support.

This well-fitting harness provides stable and controlled support giving dog and the person assisting their movement confidence. Motion is more natural, and the potential for development of compensatory injuries minimised. Safe for long term use.

The harness is fitted round the legs and hips and is highly customisable, ensuring an ergonomic and comfortable fit. The soft, robust fabric prevents any tendency for abrasion. Readily adjustable straps allow any height of user to walk comfortably and safely with the dog. Hand wash at 30°C. Available in five sizes. See diagram for measurement position.

Dispatch of beds

All our beds are made to order. This is how we are able to offer such a large number of sizes and colours.

We aim to dispatch your bed within 14 days of order, and usually manage to do it sooner. If the colour of fabric is not available in that timeframe, we will alert you to the delay and you can opt to change the colour you have selected.

Bespoke beds will generally take four to six weeks. This is because we have to order the bespoke size of foam which can take some time to arrive.

Shipping

We charge for shipping. There is no such thing as free shipping - it is either declared openly as we do, or its cost is hidden in the price you are paying for the item you are buying. The price of shipping depends on the size of the item ordered. Typically a bed shipped within mainland UK will cost £15-18. We use FedEx as they are reliable and are willing to handle our bulky products.

For small items under 2kgs we use Royal Mail next day tracked service. Unfortunately, this is not guaranteed to be a next day delivery. Orders placed before 12 noon will go out the same day.
