The Active Recovery® range provides a pressure relief sleeping surface that is ideal for dogs and cats post-surgery, especially where the patient will be recumbent for an extended period. Although designed for use in post-operative kennels, they are equally appropriate for older, arthritic patients while in veterinary care.
The castellated structure allows the individual foam elements to move directly in response to the amount of pressure applied. This differential movement of individual foam cells ensures an even distribution of pressure and avoidance of the conditions that cause pressure sores. The dog’s body rests in a neutral position, facilitating muscle relaxation.
The Active Recovery® range benefits from research conducted during the development of mattresses to prevent pressure sores in long stay NHS patients. Extensive testing of different foam configurations has identified a high quality pressure relief surface. Pressure mapping demonstrated that a pressure relief environment is maintained over extended periods. This structure is approved by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).

Active Recovery®(AR) is available in two thicknesses: 10 cm for dogs over 15 kgs and 8 cm for smaller dogs to make access easier - the AR Lite. Beds have a 5 cm deep castellated foam to deliver pressure relief on either a 3 or 5 cm high density supportive foam base. Where it is desirable to avoid the heat retention properties of memory foam, a CoolComfort option is available. This is particularly pertinent for larger and heavy coated dogs. Standard and bespoke sizes are available.

The Active Recovery® Bed is available to veterinary practices, physio and hydro-therapy centres for retail sale to clients for use at home. In the domestic situation, these beds are designed to promote an improved sleep pattern in dogs with joint issues and arthritis. They are offered with hard wearing, machine washable, waterproof covers that are antibacterial, urine and stain resistant.
Trade sales are done on a drop ship basis meaning there is no need to hold stock. Point of Sale material comprises leaflets personalised to your business, fabric colour samples, posters, and foam samples.
